Insanity Workout is it Right For You?

"Insanity" is a fitting title for this 60-day powerful full body workout and it is not for the faint of heart. While the program does allow for one day per week off from a workout along with a slower paced week in between the first month and second, it is packed full of intense, calorie burning, muscle building sessions. The "Insanity" method is created for more advanced fitness buffs though one could work up to being able to follow the program. It is an excellent workout for one looking to take their body to the next level.

The DVD collection of the series consists of 10 discs, each one with different workouts along with instructions. The program, though titled 60-day total-body conditioning program, is actually slightly longer at nine weeks, which equals 63 days.



The first 30 days include a total of seven different workouts on a rotating schedule. Day one kicks off with a fit test and instructions on how to use the program. It gives you a series of exercises to do to be able to track your progress. The fit test is also done on the last day so you are able to see the progress you've made after completing the discs, as well as several other times through the nine weeks. This is done to give you encouragement to keep working as hard as you can. Other workouts between weeks one and four consist of Plyometric Cardio Circuit which works on lower body, Cardio Power &Resistance focusing on upper body, Cardio Recovery which is a gentle cardio workout, Pure Cardio, and Pure Cardio & Cardio Abs that is a nonstop 45 minutes of high intensity training. The last day of each week is scheduled for resting with no workout required. During the first month, expect to set aside about 30-60 minutes daily for exercising.



The week between months one and two is for termed Recovery Week and for six days the same workout, Core Cardio and Balance is used. This combines gentle cardio which a lot of core strengthening. This moderate break gives your body a chance to absorb all of the work it has been doing and lasts just over 35 minutes.

There are several different discs in the second four-week period, and each workout aims to work your body as hard as possible. Month two also begins with the fit test, but also adds in the Max Interval Circuit, which claims it is more intense than anything you've ever done before. On the rotating schedule this month is MAX Interval Plyo which build muscle in the legs, MAX Cardio Conditioning, MAX Recovery, and MAX Cardio & Cardio Abs, though they don't rotate in that particular order. These will take between 45 and 85 minutes to do each.

Anyone expecting an easy workout should be warned by the name "Insanity" in the title of the program. The Insanity Workout program may be the toughest program created. Any Insanity Workout review is going to mention the extremely strenuous pace of the workout, this one included. The Insanity workout is the hardest cardio-based workout on the market.

How the Insanity Workout program works:


The Insanity Workout is a set of 10 DVDs, a nutrition plan and a progress calendar to track workouts. Users of the program are expected to workout six of seven days. Each workout takes between 35-70 minutes to complete. During each three-minute Insanity workout, the user moves quickly between exercises, with little rest in between. The Insanity Workout Program is not a "quick fix." Users must devote time and energy to the program to achieve success. Only users with a large amount of determination and dedication will be able to successfully complete the program. The program does not involve strength training, so those users hoping to "bulk up" or gain weight will be disappointed. So before I begin my review, let me explain the goal of this Insanity Workout Review online journal. Everybody sees the late night infomercials that come on TV and see the before and after pictures of the people that completed the Insanity Workout. But, won't you don't see or hear about is what it took for those people during those 60 days. You don't hear and feel their pain and challenges along the way. At the same time, I think if people did hear the trials and tribulations that everyone goes through taking the Insanity challenge they will either be inspired or it will help them learn from everyone else's mistakes. So I am going to be as honest possible with my Insanity Workout Review. I don't want to edit, the bad and only talk about the good. In a way, it will be nice for me to look back and see how far I've come too.



So lets begin, I will be honest I normally don't get excited about working out, in fact if you read my story I would make up every excuse to not work out. But, with reading all the reviews and seeing the results on TV... I figured "I can do this." Just 40 minutes a day and no workout equipment and only 2 months to finish the program. You will be exercising Monday through Saturday, and dropping off this plan for just one day will be your first mistake. The main incentive that you get with this program is knowing that there are other people out there going through the same thing as you. If you are going to be able to make sure that you stick with the program, then it would be a good idea to get some friends or family members to take the journey with you. Not many people will be able to get through this kind of program on their own, and the idea of getting some support from others is something that works with any workout routine. The only problem here is that you have to find other people with the same amount of insane commitment to losing weight and getting into shape.

The main thing you need to realize when it comes to this workout is that you can never let yourself down and miss a day. The workout routine involves a 60 day challenge where you will need to only take one day off per week.
